While photographing this wolf, he paused for a drink near the Toklat River in Denali National Park.
It is a perfect illustration of natural camouflage.
For me this image presents the wolf as a symbol of the 'whole of nature', the unspoiled wilderness. The fresh flowing stream connects the wolf to the very essence of all life - water.
What is man without the beasts?
