"DENALI GREETS THE DAWN"

$165.00

Edition of 950 Size 11" x 14" unframed

Sometimes rising at 5:00a.m. pays off! At the South end of Wonder Lake are some low rolling hills that offer spectacular vistas of Mt. McKinley (20,320’). My wife, Peggy was first to spot the three caribou bulls. Hidden behind some willows, I was able to take several pictures before they caught our scent and moved away.

"HIGH ON DENALI"

$265.00

Edition of 950 Size 16 x 24"unframed

An Alaskan bush pilot guides his DeHavilland Beaver over the Tokasitna Glacier into the heart of Denali's Southeast face. Getting up-close and personal gives visitors a true appreciation of the immense proportions of Mt. McKinley and the difficulties climbers face in reaching its summit.

The DeHavilland Beaver is considered by many to be the best bush plane ever built. With its all metal construction, high-lift wing, and flap configuration, the Beaver has excellent short take off and landing capability even with heavy loads. It was designed to operate on skis, wheels or floats. The beaver shown in this picture has wheels and skis for airstrip or glacier take off and landings. Over 1,600 Beaver aircraft were built between 1947-1967 in Canada, more than any other aircraft designed and manufactured in Canada. This popular plane is affectionately called the "half-ton truck with wings".

"DENALI – PEARL OF THE NORTH"

$750.00

Regular Edition of 950  Size 11" x 14"

It is nearly midnight and I’ve finished photographing. I sit alone and watch. The air is cool and it is very still. The ‘Great One’ - Mt. McKinley sleeps and the silence is like thunder. It explodes across the land as the mountain begins to glow a blend of lavender and pink, like melted pearl. My reverie ends as the wake of a muskrat cracks the mirror of thought and the cry of a loon breaks the silence.

"REFLECTIONS"

$265.00

Edition of 950 Size 20" x 24" unframed

Many people consider the view of Mt. McKinley from Wonder Lake to be a wilderness masterpiece. They're right! It takes your breath away in any season, but in September as the caribou migrate through the multicolored tundra and the honking of thousands of sandhill cranes cracks the silence - it is truly magic.

Have you seen God in His splendors,
Heard the text that nature renders?
The simple things, the true things,
The silent men who do things -
Then listen to the wild-it's calling you.

"FIRST LIGHT"

$265.00

Edition of 950 16" x 24" unframed

The first rays of morning light illuminate a bull caribou and the North face of Mt. McKinley. Up before dawn, I awaited sunrise at my favorite location above Wonder Lake near Ansel Adams Point. For over thirty years I have photographed Mt. McKinley. This mountain hardly ever disappoints me.

"WILDERNESS OF DENALI"

$245.00

Edition of 1800 13" x 24" unframed

It was a crisp frosty morning in late August when I found this female moose feeding serenely in the shallows of Wonder Lake. The tundra was ablaze with the colors of autumn and Mt. McKinley dominated the distant horizon. No other image in my collection captures the wild solitude of Denali National Park better than this one.

Regular Edition of 450 Size 17" x 24" $235.00 unframed

Alpenglow on Mt. McKinley reflected in a tundra pond at Denali National Park. This image was taken at 10:00 p.m. with a 35mm lens. I was all set up, camera on tripod, waiting for the light to illuminate the high peaks of the Alaska Range when suddenly to my pleasant surprise a trio of ducks swim into my picture. Great images are always made better with a little luck.

"McKINLEY SUMMER"

$215.00

Edition of 950 16" x 20" unframed

Flowering cottongrass along the shore of an unnamed tundra pond frames Mt. McKinley and the Alaska Range. Cottongrass or Arctic cotton grows in moist areas around tundra ponds. Some years, if the spring is extremely wet, it grows in profusion and provides a wonderful foreground for pictures of Denali.
